A: Music, like life, is a process of constant learning and experiencing. One can never say I've learned everything. So I expect to continue exploring, learning and experimenting. Because when your life ends, what you leave behind defines you. |

A: Afghan/Italian Food |

A: I've recorded 4 albums starting from the age of 16 which consists mainly of my own compositions. I also have arranged the music for two of those albums. I have also been fortunate enough to meet and work with some of the great musicians whoe's talents I've appreciated during their lifetime. |

A: I have great interest in psychology and astrology. And spending time with my children because they grow up so fast. Also, instilling the knowledge and moral values in them that was passed on to me. |

Q: Funny thing that ever happened to you in your music career? |

A: My current home town of Virginia U.S.A. But my most favorite place of course would be Afghanistan. |

A: My keyboard blew up right before my concert in London in 1998. I had arranged 16 track music for all the songs I had chosen to sing that night. So I was left with no other choice but to continue with just a Harmunium and Tabla. Didn't seem funny at the time, but looking back on it, it does now. Because everything turned ok, and I was very worried before then. |

A: my kids are pranksters, they make me laugh every day. |

A: My uncle Abdul Samay Zaman, for teaching me the meaning of character. My mother who's taught me the meaning of loyalty. My father for giving me the creative outlet and setting the bar of life so high that I have a constant challenge to reach that bar. And lastly my wife for teaching me the meaning of unconditional love.. |

A: No, simply because I can't act. lol |

A: I mostly enjoy recording live majlisi in my home studio. But every now and then, I'll collaborate with other artists in the area of professional music arrangement. |

A: Even though they're less in number. But I'm very content and extremely happy that we share the same taste in music. |

A: Life hasn't really changed for me because music has always been a part of my life since I was born. |

A: Only if I know for a fact that the money will go to the poor and not to the pockets of a crook. |

Q: What have you learned of life from singing? |
|
|
|
A: Because I'm the son of a legend, Ahmad Zahir, the public's expectation of me is very high. This in itself is a daily challenge because the bar is set very high to create and provide quality in everything that I do. That knowledge automatically spills over to my daily life. |
